Vale sign defender

Remie Streete has completed a move to Port Vale.

The defender left former club Newcastle by mutual consent last month and becomes Vale's second signing of the day following the acquisition of Sam Kelly.

The 20-year-old spent time on-loan with the Valiants last season, making three appearances for the first team, but was recalled by his parent club.

Manager Rob Page told the club's official website: “We’re really pleased to have signed up Remie. He’s a very good player with a lot of potential – something we saw when he was last with us.

“Remie, along with Sam who we also signed today, is now part of the bright future we are building at this football club.

“We were very impressed when he was last with us and we made him one of our top summer targets so to have him in the building is brilliant.”
