Texas to perform at Uttoxeter racecourse

Multi-platinum and Ivor Novello Award winning band Texas are to play at Uttoxeter racecourse in May.

The rock/pop band from Glasgow will perform at the East Staffordshire course as part of their 25th anniversary celebration tour.

The gig is one of 15 dates throughout the UK.

The band will belt out hits including “Black Eyed Boy”, "I Don't Want A Lover", "Say What You Want" and "Summer Son" when they perform on May 16.

As one of the UK’s most successful bands with 25 years’ experience, this isn’t the first time Texas have mixed music with horse racing! Sharleen Spiteri said “We are really looking forward to the excitement of racing followed by the thrill of playing to a huge crowd within such beautiful surroundings. We will be playing some of our greatest hits and brand new songs as well as sharing a few stories in celebration of our 25th anniversary.”

Executive Director of Uttoxeter Racecourse, David MacDonald, said ‘I am so excited that we have managed to book one of the most successful bands of the last 30 years. Our concert in 2014 with UB40 was a huge success but I fully expect Texas to out sell last year and we are all looking forward to what will be an amazing night.”
