Parents are being urged to contact Newcastle MP Aaron Bell over the closure of the JW Playclub in Wolstanton.
The call to action has been made as Jackie Williams who runs the after school club has been unable to reopen following the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Some 250 children will now have to look for fresh after school care if a solution cannot be found.
The business had been running from a community venue operated by St. Wulstans parish church.
Jackie had been informed that the provision of the building would be withdrawn next Summer, but said she took the decision to close the group after being unable to find out when it would be available for use again after it was closed due to the pandemic.
Mary Hunter parishoner and spokesperson for Father Chukka of St Wulstans said in a statement: "Signifcant building development is required at St Wulstans Community Centre and this is planned to start next July.
"In order to give JW Playgroup sufficient time to find alternative accommodation they were informed in June 2020 of the need to relocate at the end of July 2021.
"Like many of you, we are disappointed to hear that the owners of the playgroup have decided not to source alternative premises which has resulted in their decision to close the scheme with immediate effect.
"We would have been delighted to continue to host the playgroup in St Wulstans community centre until the end of July next year.
"You may already be aware that St Wulstans school operates a before and after school club and details of that provision are available from that school."
