MP hits out at no free-to-use ATM's in Burslem

The MP for Stoke-on-Trent says it is absolute disgrace there are no free to use cash machines in Burslem.

Ruth Smeeth says she has been inundated with complaints from constituents.

If people want to withdraw money in the mother town, they are now being forced to pay between 95 pence and £2.75.

She has been forced to raise the issue in Parliament twice in the last couple of weeks.

Ruth has been told that many people now use banking facilities online, but she says 20 per-cent of her constituents have not used the internet in the last six months.

She says having no free-to-use cash machines is already having a knock-on effect on local businesses in Burslem.
