Man suffers serious facial injuries in road rage incident

A man has suffered serious facial injuries which require surgery after a road rage incident in Stoke-on-Trent.

The 54-year-old intervened after a woman had been pulled to the ground by a man who had got out of his car on Bridge Road in Trent Vale last night.

The 23-year-old woman had just crossed the road. 

Police say a verbal altercation and assault took place as she was pulled to the ground at around 6.30pm.

The driver of a blue car returned to his vehicle following the incident and drove off towards Greyswood Road.

A police spokesperson said: "The road was busy at the time, and we are urging any witnesses or anyone who has "dashcam" footage of the incident to contact us on 101 quoting 709 of 20 July.
