Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Police investigating after a man was found with a serious head injury in Stafford say they have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers were called to Marston Road at around 7:35pm yesterday evening (10 October).

The 27-year-old  was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital, and is currently in a critical condition.

A 31-year-old man from Stafford has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and remains in custody for questioning at this time.

Detectives remain at the scene and are working with forensics teams to establish the circumstances of the incident.

PCSOs from the local neighbourhood team are making door-to-door enquiries and neighbourhood patrols will continue to provide a visible reassurance to the local community.

Detective Inspector Giles Parsons, senior investigating officer, said: “We are keen to establish the circumstances of this serious assault.
