Five arrested after suspected drug chemicals found

Five men have been arrested after detectives raided two addresses in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers executed a warrant at an address on Sandwood Crescent in Longton at around 9.30am yesterday (11 July), and discovered a number of chemicals believed to be used in drug manufacturing.

Two men, aged 32 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of class A drugs.

A 26-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

Another address on Portland Street in Hanley was also searched as part of the investigation and a number of chemicals were discovered.

A 40-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were arrested at the scene on suspicion of being concerned in the production of class A drugs.

All five men remain in custody.

Officers are working with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service to remove items.
