Light Night is set to transforms Burslem Town Centre over three evenings this week.
Starting tonight (31 January), the project will see the historic buildings illuminated, while musical parades go through the streets of the mother town.
The free event aims to build on the creativity and pride shown during Stoke-on-Trent’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2021.
Sense of Unity, a collaboration between specialist German outdoor puppeteers, Dundu and renowned UK percussion ensemble, Worldbeaters, will see puppets perform to LED drums.
The story of goddess Nike will unfold against the brickwork of the Old Burslem Town Hall in a large-scale projection On Shinning Wings.
The Most Powerful Weapon will be projected onto the remaining portico of the spectacular Old Sunday School in Burslem town centre with a performance from a 40-strong live local choir, and will tell the inspiring story of The Sunday School Movement which set about improving the lives of the working class by educating children.
Families and businesses are also being encouraged to light up the city, by illuminated their own homes or businesses.
They are being encouraged to then share a picture on social media using #LightUpStoke.
