Fatal collision in Stoke

A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Stoke.

The man in his 50's was in collision with a lorry just before 4pm yesterday afternoon (13 August), near the entrance of the Michelin factory on Campbell Road.

The motorcyclist, who was riding a Yamaha bike, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, but died as a result of his injuries a short time later. 

His family is aware and is being supported by specially trained officers. 

The road was closed for some time while officers from Staffordshire Police's Collision Investigation Unit carried out an examination and any issues with the road surface were dealt with. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any dashcam footage is asked to ring 101 quoting incident 528 of 13 August.
