Detectives investigate sudden death of teenager

Detectives in Staffordshire are investigating the sudden death of a teenager.

Emergency services were called to an area near to Berrisford Road in Peatswood, near Market Drayton at around 23.25pm on Friday night following concerns for a 17-year-old.

He was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he sadly died a short time later.
The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will take place next week.
His family have been informed and they are receiving support from specially trained officers.
A 18-year-old man, from Market Drayton, was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail.

Four teenagers, two 16-year-old girls, and two 17-year-old boys, all from Market Drayton, who were also assisting with enquiries have since been released under investigation.
