Cannabis plants found in Newcastle

Dozens of cannabis plants have been seized, after being found by the owner of a house in Newcastle.

Officers were called to an address on Dimsdale View East at around 8:45pm on Friday (8 February).

At the scene officers discovered the abstraction of electricity to power the equipment needed and 69 cannabis plants.

Sergeant Darren McGrath from the Newcastle Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We are exploring forensic opportunities, but we would like to hear from anyone in the neighbourhood who has information related to the cannabis growth.

"If you know anything about the growth or have witnessed suspicious activity in the area, please contact Darren.mcgrath@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk quoting incident number 750 of 8 February."
