Police have uncovered what they have described as a 'large scale cannabis grow' in Cobridge.
A total of 65 plants were discovered in several rooms of a property in Kirby Street yesterday (28 August), following concerns raised by local residents.
Specially trained officers are removing the plants so they can be destroyed.
The electricity supply had also been diverted to power the equipment, but the property has since been made safe.
Nobody was in the address at the time but investigations are continuing, including forensic examinations.
Sergeant Phillip Ferns, deputy commander for the Stoke North Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "A significant number of cannabis plants have now been taken off the streets and this criminality has been disrupted.
"We are committed to tackling drug crime in our area and will take appropriate action against those who engage in such activity."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 779 of 28 August.
