After training with the club in recent weeks, Danny Elliott is now a Port Vale player.
The 23-year-old has signed a deal which keeps him at Vale Park until the end of the season.
He is available for Saturday's fixture against Crawley Town.
Elliott becomes Neil Aspin's second signing of the transfer window, having brought in Adam Crookes this week on loan from Nottingham Forest.
Speaking to the club's official website, Neil said: "Danny has been training with us for some time now and I have been impressed with the attitude and skill that he's shown the past few weeks.
"This will be his first chance in the football league and I'm hopeful he'll be able to take his chance."
