Bosses at Uttoxeter racecourse are optimistic tomorrow's Midlands Grand National meeting will go ahead.
The forecast for Saturday is predicting strong heavy gusting winds, possibly in excess of 40 miles per hour.
They say whilst it is not possible to predict, the exact strength, or direction of the winds, they have the potential to cause safety issues around the racecourse.
They will monitor the situation and issue regular updates.
Around 16,000 people are set to attend the meeting for the 50th running of the MGN with increased prize money for the big race.
