Stoke boss left frustrated after another draw

Thibaud Verlinden who made an impressive league debut for Stoke City

Stoke City extended their unbeaten run to seven games after a 0-0 draw with Reading.

Manager Nathan Jones made three changes to his starting line-up.

There were welcome returns from injury for Sam Vokes and Peter Etebo while 19-year-old Belgium born midfielder Thibaud Verlinden was handed his league debut.

The trio replaced Charlie Adam, Ryan Woods and Benik Afobe who dropped to the bench.

Stoke twice hit the woodwork in the opening 15 minutes, first Tom Ince saw his shot hit the base of the post, then Sam Vokes saw his header come back off the crossbar after an excellent cross from Verlinden.

The result means the Potters have drawn six of their last seven games. They are now in 16th place, ten points off the play-off places going into the final international break of the season.

Stoke are back in action on Saturday 30th March when they entertain play-off chasing Sheffield Wednesday.
