Crewe Alex returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Crawley who had two players sent off.
Two goals in a five minute spell just before half time put the Alex in the ascendancy.
Callum Ainley fired them ahead on 40 minutes and Chris Dagnall doubled their lead in stoppage time.
The visitors were reduced to ten men when Jimmy Smith was sent off just after the hour mark for a foul on Tom Lowery
It got worse for the visitors, when Jordan Roberts also saw red five minutes from time. He had already been cautioned and was again penalised for a foul on Ainley.
Chris Dagnall then rubbed salt into the wounds with his second and Crewe's third in the 90th minute.
Manager Dave Artell told the club's website: “It was a good win and we thoroughly deserved the three points. The performance was good and the result matched the performance.
“It was a bit cat and mouse for the opening 20 minutes but we slowly and surely began to turn the screw. Callum got us up and running with a wonderful goal and although we probably made poor decisions against nine men than eleven, I am delighted with the performance.
“The front two were a threat. Dagnall was there to put them in and you can't underestimate the endeavour Jordan gets through.
“The opposition gave us a real helping hand this afternoon. When we had Brad on a yellow card at Blackburn, we took him off at half-time. It was hard enough with 11v11 without losing one.
“The clean-sheet gave us a solid base and to a man they worked their socks off not to concede and I am pleased that we got the clean-sheet. They have had two efforts that have hit the crossbar but I thought we defended well throughout.”
Crewe are back in action on Saturday when they entertain Swindon Town.
