Max Clegg has become the first rider to be announced for the season opening Pride of the Potteries meeting on Saturday 13th April.
Stoke Potters promoter Dave Tattum said: “Max was quick to take the opportunity to return and race in the Pride of the Potteries and he will certainly be one of the contenders on the evening.
"Max was a delight to work with last season and immediately became a fan’s favourite and was always immaculately turned out and very professional in how he operated and was a real credit to the club.
"At the end of the season he was unbeatable and rolled off win after win and maximum after maximum and rounded the season off with the rider of the year and I’m pleased he will be back here at our opening meeting of the season.”
Tattum also confirmed the format for the meeting saying “The meeting will be run over 20 heats with the winner being the top points scorer on the night. I don’t really like the two semi-finals and a final, I’m old school and very much prefer the straight 20 heats individual meeting.
We are building a good field I believe and it will be a great meeting to open our season.”
