Butland in England squad for World Cup qualifiers

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has been named in the England team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

He will go up against Joe Hart, who is currently on loan at West Ham from Manchester City, as well as Burnley's Tom Heaton and Everton's Jordan Pickford, for the number one spot.

The Three Lions are due to link up at St. George’s Park on Sunday before travelling to face Malta on Friday 1 September.

Then, on Monday 4 September, comes a crucial game at Wembley Stadium against Slovakia, who are currently two points behind England at the top of Group F.

Potters defender Joshua Tymon, who made his debut in last night's 4-0 League Cup win over Rochdale, has been called into the England Under-19 squad for their upcoming double-header against Poland and Germany.

Stoke goalkeeper Josef Bursik has been called up the England Under-18s squad for next month’s matches against Brazil and South Africa.
