Churnet Valley 1940s Trip


Join us on the 27th & 28th April 2013 as we journey back in time to life on the home-front at our sleepy rural railway

Churnet Valley Railway turns back the clock for our 1940’s weekend, recreating scenes and memories of a nation coping with day-to-day life in war time Britain. So put on your dress uniform & silk stockings and join us as we Lindy Hop our way through the celebrations of a nation rejoicing at the prospect of peace.

The following rules ("Rules”) together with UTV Media ("UTV Media") general and competition terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at www.signal2.co.uk) apply to "Churnet Valley Railway” radio competition ("the Competition") which will run from 22nd April 2013 to 26th April 2013 ("the Duration”).. The "Radio Station" is Signal 2

Anyone who enters the Competition (an "Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Radio Station.

1)Details of the Competition

1.1To enter the Competition an Entrant must call in to the studio when instructed by the presenters. This competition will run on Signal 2 during Dave Johnson’s Mid-Morning Show 1000-1500 and with Paul Fairclough between 1500-1700. Calls will be charged at the standard rates, calls from mobiles may vary. Please always get the permission from the bill payer.

1.2 Entrants can also play online at signal1.co.uk in the WIN section. Entrants must answer the question online correctly and will be drawn at random to win. Entry online closes on Fri 26th at 1400. Winners are selected at random from all the correct answers.

1.3 Winners will be determined by calling the studio once they hear the cue to call as instructed by the presenter on Signal 2.

1.3 Entrants must be aged 16 or over.

1.4 Entrants must live within the transmission area of Signal 1 (http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/radiolicensing/mcamaps/al089.pdf)

2) The prize will be two family pass per day (2 adults & 2 children) on Signal 2 valid over the 1940’s weekend only 27th and 28th April 2013. Entry at management discretion and management reserve the right to refuse entry. Tickets are redeemable over the 1940s weekend only and will not be valid should there be adverse weather restrictions or once the event has ceased. Replacement tickets are at the discretion of Churnet Valley Railway.
