Stafford Repair Café
Saturday, September 14th
Stafford Repair Café moves to a new venue for its next event on Saturday 14 September. It will be at Salvation Army, Faraday Road, Stafford to welcome customers and their broken household items, from 10.00 til 1.00.
Volunteer repairers will apply their wide range of skills to fix items including electrical appliances, computers, furniture, toys, tools, clothes and bikes, and all for free!! Customers can see their items being repaired, learn new tips, and perhaps be inspired to try mending things themselves. Light refreshments will be provided by members of the church, enabling customers to relax and meet friends old and new.
Linda Downward, Salvation Army Territorial Envoy, said: “We are happy to host Repair Café for the benefits it can bring to our community, by helping people to save money on costly repairs and bringing them together in a friendly setting.”
Organiser Robert Hine of local environmental group Sustainability Matters pointed out that, “Repair Café gives broken items a second life. Visitors see that it is possible to make repairs, even in our ‘throwaway society’, and that repairing is fun.”
Stafford Repair Café is at Salvation Army, Faraday Road, Stafford, ST16 3NQ, on Saturday 14 September. Opening hours 10.00 am til 1.00 pm. For more information contact Rob Hine of Sustainability Matters (firstname.lastname@example.org).
